- 1974 - Alison Gibbons leaves the village. Hawthorn Cottage is broken into.
- 1981 - David Metcalfe is born.
- 1987 - Jack Sugden is released from prison.
- 1992 - Michael Feldmann and Steve Marshal rob Home Farm, leaving Joe Sugden badly injured.
- 1999 - Chris Tate is kidnapped by an unknown assailant.
- 2001 - Marlon Dingle is left smitten when Paddy Kirk introduces him to the new locum vet, Rhona.
- 2003 - Chris Tate dies: committing suicide by poisoning his wine in order to frame his wife Charity for his murder.
- 2004 - Diane Blackstock's hen night takes place.
- 2006 - Cain Dingle viciously attacks Sadie King before kidnapping her and her father-in-law Tom. Perdita Hyde-Sinclair suffers a miscarriage.
- 2007 - Following a fight with Debbie Dingle over the stolen necklace, Lexi Nicholls reveals to her older sister Carrie that she knows she is actually her mother.
- 2014 - Aaron Livesy is released from prison and is given a suspended sentence.
- 2020 - Kirin Kotecha is arrested for the death of Tess Harris four years prior.
