- 1831 - Josiah Hathersage and Rebecca Thornton marry.
- 1938 - Pearl Ladderbanks is born.
- 1975 - Kathy Davis returns to the village.
- 1982 - New NY Estates estate manager Alan Turner arrives in the village.
- 2003 - Terry Woods and Dawn Hope marry.
- 2008 - Chas and Debbie Dingle set up Charlie Sellers to get him out of Jo Stiles's life by robbing one of Brenda MacFarlane's clubs. However, Charlie holds the bar manager hostage while Chas takes the contents of the safe. Charlie later demands they hand it over but Brenda returns with a heavy. Andy Sugden is released from prison.
- 2010 - Sally Spode drugs and rapes Ashley Thomas.
- 2019 - Joe Tate is revealed to be alive after 5 months, believing he was killed by Cain Dingle who still has no idea the truth. The only person who knew Joe is alive is Graham Foster but Kim Tate finds out about Graham's lies.
- 2020 - Vanessa Woodfield's surgery successfully removes the tumour in her bowel but she's told she'll still need chemo as a precaution.
- 2021 - Mandy Dingle and Paul Ashdale's hen and stag dos take place. Vinny Dingle works out Paul faked his kidnapping so Paul beats him unconscious to keep him quiet. Charity Dingle sells her half of The Woolpack to Marlon Dingle.

- 1994 - Simon Lennon (Ben Tucker) is born.
- 2020 - ITV announce that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the programme's schedules will temporarily change as of 30th March to five episodes a week, transmitting at 7pm on Monday to Friday - no double episode on Thursday.
