- 1949 - Hilary Potts is born.
- 1974 - Janie Blakey discovers she is pregnant.
- 1991 - Henry Wilks receives news that his son-in-law Paolo Rosetti is dead. Charity Dingle's newborn son is revived, but Charity leaves the hospital before she can be told her son is alive.
- 2004 - A storm takes hold of Emmerdale, leaving Tricia Dingle and Ashley Thomas critically injured.
- 2006 - Paul Lambert is set upon by homophobic thugs.
- 2007 - Toni Daggert leaves the village.
- 2008 - The funeral of Rosemary King takes place, however, it is disrupted when Matthew King tries to fill in the grave before the coffin is interred. That evening, Matthew has Rosemary's coffin dug up and crushed in the back of a bin lorry.
- 2009 - Donna Windsor-Dingle reveals to her husband Marlon that she had an affair with Ross Kirk.
- 2015 - Lachlan White suffers a seizure when he agrees to get high on drugs with Belle Dingle.
- 2016 - Following the news that Ross Barton and Andy Sugden were both involved in Robert Sugden's shooting, Debbie Dingle leaves the village with hers (and Andy's) children Sarah and Jack.
- 2018 - Sam Dingle and Lydia Hart are arrested for attempting to steal badgers after Tom Waterhouse calls the police on them.
- 2019 - Cain Dingle is violently attacked by Isaac Nuttall and his friends.
- 2020 - Victoria Sugden gives birth to a son, whom she names Harry.
- 2024 - Cathy, Heath Hope and Angelica King are involved in a car crash after Cathy steals Wendy Posner's car to attend a party in Hotten. Cathy and Angelica both survive, but Heath dies on impact.

- 1919 - Sheila Mercier (Annie Brearly) is born.
- 1997 - Emmerdale adds a permanent Wednesday night episode.
- 2008 - Emmerdale airs its first regularly hour-long Tuesday episode, with each of these episodes having a title, a practice that lasted until August the same year.
