Emmerdale history[]
- 1977 - Frank Armitage's planned caravan site is burnt down.
- 1983 - Barbara Peters leaves the village.
- 1987 - Joe Sugden discovers his girlfriend is engaged to another man.
- 1992 - Lorraine Nelson reports her father to the police for rape.
- 1994 - Zak Dingle arrives in the village to challenge his old rival Ned Glover to a bare-knuckle fist fight. Seth Armstrong proposes to Betty Eagleton before accidentally shooting the beast of Beckindale.
- 1998 - The Woolpack is burned down by fireworks.
- 2004 - Zak Dingle loses the Dingle homestead to Solomon Dingle.
- 2006 - In order to settle the score with Nick Callow and Gary Dench, Eli Dingle raids the Post Office armed with a shotgun, holding Viv Hope and Kelly Windsor hostage. Eli then hides the shotgun under Nick and Gary's van and the two thugs are then arrested.
- 2011 - First appearance of Ruby Haswell. Amelia Spencer is nearly run over by Carl King, but Sam Dingle saves her in the nick of time.
- 2016 - On the day of his daughter Dotty's christening, Ashley Thomas forgets who she is during the service. Heartbroken, he drives off. James Barton confronts his wife Emma on a bridge overlooking a motorway. Emma accidentally pushes James off. He lands on Ashley's car, resulting in a huge pile-up involving Ashley, Pierce Harris, Rhona Goskirk and Paddy Kirk. Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle swerve to avoid the crashed vehicles and plunge into a nearby lake with Robert's former stepson Lachlan White still in the boot. In the aftermath, James, Paddy and Rhona are all rushed to hospital, while Emma and Ashley escape the scene. Robert rescues Aaron and he dives back into the water for Lachlan who already escaped.
- 2017 - Moira Dingle abandons her newborn son when his crying becomes too much for her to bear.
- 2020 - Nate Robinson confesses to knocking down Moira Dingle in order to protect Belle Dingle who had been set up by Jamie Tate.
- 2022 - Amelia Spencer gives birth to a baby girl. Tracy Metcalfe leaves the village and returns to Nottingham, whilst Diane Sugden leaves the village and returns to Portugal.
