Emmerdale history[]
- 1990 - Lynn Whiteley returns to Birmingham with her son.
- 1991 - Kathy Merrick's surprise hen night is held.
- 2000 - Sam Dingle leaves for Ireland.
- 2001 - The teens question Sam Dingle why he has been following them. Sam explains that he has been living rough in the woods in a bid to escape from his brother Cain. He reveals that he has found it lonely and has been listening in on their conversations but assures them that he won't say a word to anyone about their secret.
- 2005 - Due to the death of his portrayer Stan Richards earlier this year, long-running character Seth Armstrong dies off-screen on a plane home back to the UK. Kathy Glover (now Brookman) returned with him.
- 2013 - Alan Turner's funeral takes place. His daughter Steph Stokes is allowed out of prison to attend.
- 2014 - Cain Dingle takes Maxine, the blackmailer of his wife, Moira, to the shipping container that his cousin Charity was held in. When Charity and her daughter Debbie arrive, Charity kidnaps Maxine, taking off Maxine's seatbelt and drives fast down country lanes, threatening to kill her if she doesn't leave Moira alone.
- 2017 - Lachlan White walks in on Robert Sugden and his grandfather Lawrence White about to kiss. Lachlan is thrown out of Home Farm when he tries to warn his family about Robert's plans.
- 2020 - Vanessa Woodfield breaks up with Charity Dingle via videocall after finding out she kissed Moira's brother Mackenzie Boyd. (Last appearance of Vanessa until 2021)
- 2024 - Ross Barton tells Charity Dingle that his ex-girlfriend Rebecca White had died from surgery complications and her son Sebastian White is sent to live with Rebecca's aunt at Bristol. Nicola King and her step-son Carl Holliday went to police station as Carl reported his cousin Thomas King for destroying his tablet.
