Aberdeen is Scotland's third most populous city, one of Scotland's 32 local government council areas and the United Kingdom's 37th most populous built-up area, with an official population estimate of 196,670 for the city of Aberdeen itself and 228,990 for the local authority area.

Jessica McAllister's boyfriend Danny lived in Aberdeen. She wanted to live with him but couldn't.
In 1983, Tom and Sandie Merrick move to Aberdeen. Sandie gives birth to a daughter who she puts up for adoption. She returns in 1984.
Pete Barton is offered a job in Aberdeen in 2016 but doesn't go.
