Adam Forrester arrived in the village just as a truck collided with a bus, resulting in numerous casualties. Adam managed to rescue a majority of the passengers. He later clashed with Marlon Dingle, as the pair both tried to win the affections of Tricia Dingle. Tricia picked Adam but the relationship soon ended after she caught Virginia West calling Adam back to bed. In August 2000, Adam saves Paddy Kirk after he was kicked unconscious by a horse, ending the feud between them and Paddy's girlfriend Mandy. Adam had a relationship with Bev Mansfield in December 2000, which didn't last either. His time there ended when a horse owned by Lady Tara Thornfield suffered an adverse reaction to penicillin and was subsequently sacked from the veterinary surgery.
