Barbara Peters (née Hinton) is the daughter of Donald Hinton. Barbara arrived in Beckindale in January 1983, having left her husband Brian. Barbara got a job as a secretary at Home Farm. Her boss Alan Turner occasionally made her feel uneasy by standing over her and leering at her. Barbara entered into a relationship with Joe Sugden and this caused a lot of dissension as she was still legally married to Brian. In October 1983 she left the village.
