Barry Clegg was the ex-husband of Lisa Dingle and was an eccentric. Barry made a huge rocket and got Marlon, Zak and Mandy Dingle involved to his regret as the rocket blew up. Barry returned in September 1997 to stop Lisa from marrying Zak's brother Albert. He made further appearances two months later to compete for Zak for a busking pitch, even using underhand tactics to take Zak's pitch by reporting him to a council official. Barry appeared again in January 1998 to showcase his pedal powered microwave on Nigel Hibbert's cookery and then helped pay for Zak and Lisa's wedding, much to Zak's surprise. Barry then left the village for the last time.
Lisa kept in touch regularly with Barry's mother Granny Clegg.
