Buckley was a businessman and was the director of Buckley Builders in Bradford. Henry Wilks employed Buckley's men for plans with the pig unit in 1973. A human skull was found while digging the foundations for the new piggery and this delayed building. Archaeologists were called. Buckley hatched a plan to disrupt the excavations. However, an accident occurred when a young woman was injured due to Buckley's plan to disrupt the excavations. Wilks ordered workers stop work temporarily. Wilks then decided to abandon the pig unit construction completely.
