Colin Long is a member of Reg Dawson's gang who helps him rob his ex-wife Viv Windsor's post office and take her and Shirley Turner hostage up at Home Farm, resulting in a stand-off with the police. After Reg shoots Shirley, Colin tells Viv to flee but she refuses, so he gives himself up instead and advises the police to be careful while tackling Reg.
