DS Benton is a police officer who along with DC Wilson, investigated the death of Emma Barton.

Benton arrested and questioned Adam Barton on the death of Adam's half-brother Finn, alongside DC Wilson. It was revealed that Finn's mother Emma shot him, and Emma was pushed off the Hotten Viaduct by an unknown assailant. DS Benton and DC Wilson investigated and questioned Gabby Thomas, but ended up releasing her as they had no evidence against her.

In June 2018, Benton became one of the lead investigators into the disappearance of 11-year-old Amelia Spencer, alongside DC Smee.
