Eileen Pollock is the first wife of Eric Pollard. They had a stillborn son called Edward Pollock, in 1978. Eileen and Eric split up a few years later but did not divorce. Eric changed his surname to Pollard, to make it hard for her to track him down. In March 1994, she arrived in Beckindale after reading about the plane crash and the death of Eric's second wife Elizabeth Feldmann. She threatened to expose Eric as a bigamist until he paid her off for a divorce. She then left the village and they divorced after 30 years of marriage, although they had only been together for a short amount of time during the marriage itself.
