Elizabeth Gough was the wife of Samuel Gough and the mother of James and Hannah Elizabeth Gough. Hannah and Samuel died of smallpox whilst being looked after James's wife Lucy Gough. The villagers were suspicious and accused Lucy of starving Elizabeth and Samuel.
Elizabeth was mentioned numerous times in 1978 when Elizabeth's great great great grandson Sam Pearson found Hannah Elizabeth's skull, and decided to learn more about his family.
