Ella Forster (née Ruth Davies) is a friend of Mandy Dingle who was the receptionist at Brook Cottage Surgery and was later revealed to have killed someone as a child.

Backstory[]
Ella was born Ruth Davies on 22nd August 1994; she is known to have had one brother and was said to be close to her dad.
On Ruth's 11th birthday in August 2005, she got into a fight with her best friend Joanne Phillips, ending in Joanne's death. A traumatised Ruth spent time in juvenile detention, but she could never live down what she did and was frequently harassed when people discovered who she was.
At some time before 2019, Ruth assumed the fictitious identity of Ella Forster and began working for Jules Jefferson, who treated her appallingly.
2024: Arrival, relationship with Liam, and exposed as a killer[]
Ella arrived in Emmerdale in January 2024 for a vets' function at the Hide Bar & Bistro hosted by Jules. Ella confided in her new friend Mandy Dingle, who'd witnessed Jules' mistreatment of her, that she put up with him as she needed the job. However, when Jules made a dig about Mandy's outfit, Ella had enough and poured beer over Jules' head as a way of handing in her notice. Mandy's partner Paddy Dingle saw the aftermath of the incident and assumed Mandy was responsible so had a go at her, causing Mandy to run out in tears.
The following day, Ella and Mandy met up to discuss the previous day's events. Local GP Manpreet Sharma heard them talking and offered Ella a job as the receptionist in the newly opened Brook Cottage Surgery.
