2000 was Emmerdale's 29th year.
Viewership[]
The average viewing figure for the year was 10.69 million viewers, which was down 590,000 on 1999. It should be noted that, until the addition of the Monday and Friday episodes in October, some episodes (usually the Tuesday edition) were repeated the day after their original broadcast and BARB combined the viewing figures for both showings of these episodes, which inflated their viewing figures slightly. The most-watched episode of the year was Episode 2669 (22nd March 2000), with 13.25 million viewers, while the least-watched episode was Episode 2692 (12th May 2000), with 8.25 million viewers (combined). 78 episodes ranked within the weekly top 10 for all UK TV, which was 16 more than the year before.
