Plot[]

Part One: Chas, Mack, John, Caleb, and Ruby stare at the barn in shock. At that moment, Cain emerges from the barn with an unconscious Moira and John immediately begins performing emergency measures on her. Vanessa doesn't think it makes sense for Nate to kiss Moira but Tracy believes he's punishing her for her affair with Caleb. Emergency services arrive at the barn just as John is able to get Moira breathing again. Suddenly, Chas realises Will is nowhere to be seen. Vinny finds a distressed Belle sitting outside the village hall. Mackenzie discovers an unconscious Will around the side of the barn. Charity and Jimmy get into a slanging match about Tom and Belle. Charity can't believe how idiotic Jimmy is being and reminds him Tom previously terrorised Chas although Jimmy insists that's different. He reminds Charity that sometimes some women lie but an infuriated Charity hits back that some men are monsters. At Keepers Cottage, Amelia reveals to Kerry that Belle accused Tom of abusing her and he's so scared of Cain's reaction that he's had to disappear. Tracy finds John staring shiftily into the back of his campervan although she's soon distracted by the news of the fire at the farm. Tracy asks about Nate but John explains he left before it happened. Tracy is concerned by John's coughing so asks Liam to examine him. At the hospital, Cain updates Chas on Moira's condition. Chas questions why he's still in the waiting room instead of sitting with Moira but Cain explains this doesn't change anything as he can't forget what Moira did. Chas urges Cain to be with his wife and not let his pride get in the way.

Part Two: Following Chas' encouragement, Cain heads into Moira's hospital room. Moira tells Cain she's got so much she needs to say to him but Cain insists she needs to focus on getting better. Moira asks Cain to hold her hand then but he remains standing at the end of her bed so Moira asks for him to talk to her instead. As Moira is up for talking, Cain asks for the truth. Chas returns to the pub and informs Charity, Aaron, and Victoria about the fire and how Moira and Ruby could've died without John's medical training. Cain asks Moira why she kissed Nate. Moira again protests she didn't or at least she can't remember doing so. Moira fears there's something more than the menopause wrong with her and swears she'd never do that to him again if she was thinking straight. Cain isn't convinced. As they sit on the swings, Belle opens up to Vinny about Tom's abuse and explains if she hadn't gotten out, he would've killed her. Vinny admits knew something wasn't right but was scared to ask for fear of her pushing him away. Belle explains he didn't want anyone knowing the truth and now Tom has disappeared and she's scared Cain has done something to him. At the hospital, Ruby reveals to Caleb that Moira started the fire - it was like Moira didn't recognise her and even called her "Emma". At the same time, Moira tells Cain about seeing Emma. Cain thinks she's just making excuses for kissing Nate but Moira insists she isn't. As they are talking, Moira suddenly begins fitting.

Part Three: Cain is shaken following Moira's seizure and feels guilty as she was trying to tell him something was wrong and he wasn't listening to her. The doctor emerges from Moira's room and informs Cain that Moira's suffered a significant seizure so they'll need to do a CT scan of her brain to ascertain what caused it. Aaron and John have a pint following John's heroics. Mack thanks John for all he did, whilst Aaron hopes to persuade John to stick around. A worried Jimmy tries to get a hold of Tom. The longer he goes without contact, the more Jimmy fears Cain's done something to him. Mack and Matty arrive at the hospital. Matty hopes the CT scan will explain Moira's odd behaviour recently. Kerry believes Belle's allegations although Amelia remains steadfast in her believe that Tom is innocent. Chas is devastated when Kerry informs her Belle was abused by Tom. Belle apologises to Vinny for letting Tom to come between them but Vinny insists she's got nothing to apologise for. Chas walks up to the pair and wraps Belle in her arms. The doctor explains to Moira that the scan found a mass on her brain but they'll know more after an MRI scan. Dawn visits Will in hospital as the staff contacted her when they were unable to get hold of Kim. She's glad her dad is okay but explains this changes nothing. Jimmy also visits Will. Elsewhere in the hospital, Matty, Mack, and Cain visit Moira. Matty asks about the outcome of her brain scan but Moira lies the results aren't back yet. After Mack and Matty leave, a terrified Moira reveals to Cain that the scan showed a mass on her brain. Cain hugs Moira.

Part Four: Will explains to Jimmy that he was waiting for his blackmailer when he learned about the fire. Jimmy urges Will to get in contact with his blackmailer and explain, but when Will picks up his phone, he has a message saying "You messed up and now you pay". Will recalls that Dawn said the hospital were unable to get a hold of Kim and fears the blackmailer has got to her. At Tug Ghyll, Tracy tells Vanessa about the fire and how she was scared Nate was caught up in it but he'd already left for Shetland. Tracy feels guilty for only allowing Nate five minutes to say goodbye to Frankie and fears he'll start a new life and forget about his old one. A tearful Moira apologises to Cain for what she's put him through recently and fears she's ruined Nate's life as well. Moira can't bear the thought of Kyle and Isaac growing up without her and through her sobs she declares she doesn't want to die. Cain promises her she's going nowhere. Charity, Chas, and Belle sit in Jacobs Fold. Chas feels awful for not noticing the signs but Belle explains she didn't want anyone knowing about the abuse. Now the whole village knows and she just wants to disappear as she can't face being labelled a victim - or worse a headcase. Caleb finds Cain getting some fresh air. Cain confides in his brother that the scan showed a mass on Moira' brain. Caleb thinks that explains things, revealing Moira started the fire, knocked Ruby out and left her to die. She even called Ruby "Emma". Caleb asks Cain if he knows who Moira might've mistaken her for but Cain dodges the question. Cain feels guilty for having a go at Moira as he wanted to hate her instead of help her. Tracy wonders what she's going to tell Frankie about Nate leaving. Vanessa assures Tracy that Frankie will get used to the new situation and reminds her that Nate moving away doesn't mean he's going to stop being Frankie's dad. Afterwards, Tracy phones Nate. He doesn't answer so she leaves him a voicemail pleading with him to do right by their daughter. Cain worries what he's going to tell the boys about Moira. Conversation soon turns to Nate and Cain realises that after everything he's done, he'll be lucky if he still has a son. Charity and Chas are both eaten up with guilt for not seeing something was wrong with Belle sooner. Cain debates calling Nate but decides against it. He heads back into Moira's hospital room and takes his sleeping wife's hand and rests his head against her.
