Plot[]

Episode 10233[]

Part One: It is the day of Leyla and Amy's funerals. Eric has decided to attend Leyla's funeral to support Jacob and Tracy reassures him that Amy would understand. She is sheepish when Eric refers to Tracy as being like a daughter to him. Moira is unable to attend Amy's funeral due to the aftereffects of her radiotherapy. Kerry supports Matty as he struggles to face the day ahead. He snipes at Cain as he arrives with Kyle. Mary finds a bracelet on the floor of Tug Ghyll and Vanessa is puzzled, not recognising it as one of Suzy's, Manpreet is still being overly protective of her phone when she receives a message and Liam mistakenly reaches for it, thinking it is his. The villagers gather for Leyla and Amy's funerals. At home, Sarah takes her pregnancy test.

Part Two: Leyla's funeral gets underway as her coffin is brought in to the church to the Tom Jones song She's a Lady and carried by six Magic Mike-esque pallbearers that Belle claims were friends of Leyla's. Matty gets Amy's funeral underway in the woods as he talks about Amy in the present tense and declares how proud he is of his wife. Sarah arrives late to Leyla's funeral and sits behind Jacob. Liam reads the eulogy Leyla left for him, revealing it had been written from a hospital bed when she was still trying to conquer her drug addiction. Jacob's touched as the eulogy declares Jacob to be the best thing she ever did and touches on her regret that she lost sharing the early years of his life with him. Victoria speaks at Amy's funeral and compares her to a sister. Matty reads Don't Cry for Me, noting it to be a favourite of Amy's. When he struggles, Kerry joins him and they read the poem out together. As the service closes, Matty, Cain, Mackenzie and Vinny carry Amy's coffin away. Jacob talks at Leyla's funeral noting that while Leyla wasn't always the greatest mum, she was his best friend and he is proud of everything she did for him.


Episode 10234[]

Part Three: The attendees of both funeral's gather together in The Woolpack for a combined wake. Belle dishes out fortune cookies that Leyla had personalised and left for everyone causing amusement as they read her messages. Eric notes Tracy's message is a more serious one and she reveals that Leyla used to phone her when she moved to Nottingham and would spend hours talking to her on the phone talking to her when she was craving another fix.

Leyla catches Tracy pocketing money out of the till in the shop and demands to know how long she's been stealing from Eric. Tracy reveals that she was intending to use the money to buy Frankie a birthday present from her dad as she has not received any maintenance from Nate for months and he is not answering her calls or messages. When Leyla offers her money, Tracy reveals that she's already pocketed up to £2,000 out of the till as bills started to increase. She also reveals that she put Eric's potential buyers off by telling them the business was failing. Leyla encourages Tracy to tell Eric insisting he will understand.

Matty drunkenly lays into Cain at the pub, causing a scene. Cain follows him through to the toilets and tells him to get his anger out of his system now while Kyle isn't around. Sarah tries to get a few minutes alone with Jacob but he apologises saying he needs a moment alone. She stares down at the positive pregnancy test in her bag.

Part Four: Cain tells Matty they need to heal their rift for Kyle's sake or he will need to stop seeing him. Matty is aghast seeing Kyle as his last link to Amy. He is touched when Cain reveals he sees Matty as a son to him. Mary finds Vanessa crying in the ladies toilets.

Mary returns a book she has borrowed from Suzy and Suzy pays her a compliment and calls her out as Mary jokingly puts herself down. She tells Mary she's amazing and gorgeous and brings up the day she asked her how she felt last year, revealing that her love for Vanessa is nothing like what she feel for Mary. When Mary admits she feels the same way about Suzy but believes they can never have anything because of how other people would react to the age difference, Suzy tries to talk her round. She declares she is going to end things with Vanessa regardless of Mary's decision. They kiss as Leyla walks in and catches them and Mary makes a dash for the door, her bracelet falling to the floor in her hurry to get out.

Vanessa reveals to Mary she was going to take Suzy to New York and propose. Mary finds herself lying to Vanessa that she knows Suzy would have accepted her proposal in order to comfort her. Kerry and Eric head off to his to share a drink and he plans to read her the eulogy he had written for Amy. Jacob heads home and agrees to catch up with Sarah tomorrow. Manpreet congratulates Liam on doing a good job at the funeral before heading off herself.

Leyla walks in on Manpreet looking at something on her laptop in the surgery and, stunned by what she sees, asks Manpreet if that is her on the screen. Manpreet admits it is while hurriedly closing the laptop screen and chastising Leyla for walking in on her unannounced.

Manpreet receives a text message from someone stating that they know her "dirty little secret".
