Plot[]
Seth has left his onions at The Bates' house after helping with the repairs last night, and his chances of winning the Master Gardeners Competition are scuppered when Alan, Nick and Caroline eat the onions for their dinner. Seth comes to collect them and is aghast. Alan says they are delicious, baked. Tempers flare between Matt and Dolly when Sam's enthusiasm for the outdoor life brings him close to danger. Dolly berates Sam, saying the farm is a dangerous place. Matt says that it is good that Sam is interested in farming. Dolly says they should not let a 5 year old take an interest in farming. Matt says this has to do with inheriting Crossgill Farm. She wonders why, and he tells Dolly that ever since they inherited Crossgill that she has changed, and is too ambitious. He says that nothing is good enough for her any more, her clothes, the car, the curtains. Matt does not want to move 2 miles up a hill, and says that the possible move is driving them apart. He walks out in a huff.
