Plot
Rosemary makes an apology. The election for the People's Warden is held. Reverend Ruskin has some news of his own. He is being transferred to another parish in the area. He says he will keep in touch with Beckindale residents. Sam has been nominated as churchwarden but rejects the vote. It is between Annie and Cyril Bush. Cyril withdraws, so Annie is elected as the new churchwarden. Ruskin then declares the meeting closed.
