Plot[]
Annie recieves a letter from Jack, but delays opening it, despite Sam's questions. Joe jokes about Rosemary having tea at the Gimbels. Sam asks Annie to make a cake - she tells him that he needs to buy some Caraway seeds if she is to make it. When Rosemary mentions that Kathy had missed Sunday tea with her family, Joe makes a quick escape - something that isn't missed by Annie. She shuts down her father's rant about the younger generation, before telling Rosemary that no one will force her to do anything she doesn't want to do. Amos and Henry are put out that Winnie Purvis has forced them out of the backroom to clean. There is a bad atmosphere at Holly Farm. Martin tells Kathy in private that he understands why she married Kenny Davis - to get away. He digs for information about her and Joe, and though she doesn't answer, she cannot hide the smile on her face. Sam tells Rosemary not to rush into anything, but when he mentions Martin by name, she comes up with an excuse to rush off. Joe asks Amos about where he holidayed the previous year. Jim tells Freda that neither of them will force Martin to get married, prompting Freda to tell Martin to avoid Rosemary for a while, even though it is obvious that she wants the opposite. Henry and Amos are annoyed when they are unable to find the letters that had arrived that morning. Joe tells Kathy about his holiday plans. Martin calls in at Emmerdale Farm to see Rosemary to tell her about what his mother said. Later, Kathy finds Joe in one of the fields, and asks him for the address of his holiday location.
