Bernice tells Ashley that he is the only man for her. The Reynolds plan the party to celebrate Marc's GSCE results. Viv confides in Emily that her political career is in ruins. Emily suggests the shop should start to be more like a traditional village shop and tells her she has arranged delivery for later. Zak shows Jason the fruits of his morning work - some dodgy paint tins. Worried about Lisa's reaction, Zak suggests telling her it was an insurance claim. However, there's only one problem - there aren't any labels on the tins. Lisa arrives at the post office with Emily's delivery - it's an old chair, so the customers feel more welcome when they come into the shop. Viv is not convinced but is proven wrong when Betty enters and thinks it's a brilliant idea. Eric congratulates Charity on her excellent work with his election campaign. Mandy's suspicious of Eric's motives with Charity. Sarah is arranging flowers in the church when Edna comes in and puts a stop to her work, claiming a woman who has sinned has no place in the church. Ashley tries to defend Sarah, but Edna tells him that she is going to write to the Bishop informing him of Ashley's conduct in the village. Sarah confides in Ashley about the children not wanting to see her. Ashley advises her to speak to Jack - she does have a legal right. When Betty spends a fortune sat down in the chair, Viv agrees to let the chair have a trial run in the shop. Mandy invites Emily to Smithy with Charity for a girls night in looking at catalogues. Pollard wants to extend the terms of arrangements with Charity and tries wriggling out of payment until Charity mentions her knowledge of Councillor Ecclestone, forcing Pollard to cough up. Viv pushes Zak out of the shop when he takes advantage of the chair and tries to throw the chair out after him until Emily stands in her way. Sarah approaches Laura wanting some free advise. Laura tells her she has a legal right to reasonable access. As the Reynolds wait for Marc, Marc is in The Woolpack not wanting to go home to his party. Charity flashes her money from Eric at Smithy.
