Plot[]
It's Richie's birthday. Angie has received a phone call from the school inquiring as to how long Ollie will be absent due to illness. Ollie has visited Seth. She wants Seth to accompany her into Hotten at lunchtime and identify the girls, after which she will inform her mother who can arrest them. Seth is concerned that the girls will come looking for him. Betty is determined to resolve the situation. Pollard discusses number plates on Alan's bike with Alan, and Sam later assists Pollard in unloading an old bike from the van in which Pollard purchased it for the number plates. Cain offers to take Charity out, but Charity declines, stating that she already has a prior engagement. Sarah believes she has a lot to lose, whereas Richie does not. Betty is determined to put an end to this and heads out to the school with Ollie. Cain is on the prowl for information about Charity's steamy date. He is under the impression that Terry is the culprit. For the first time since the mugging, Seth steps outside and heads to the bus stop for Hotten. Chris discovers Charity has broken into Home Farm, and she informs him that Cain has grown suspicious. Betty speaks with the girls, at which point Seth appears and begins to threaten them. Bev Mansfield threatens to contact the authorities if they do not all settle down. Seth recognises them as the girls that mugged him when Angie arrives at the school. Angie takes the girls to the station, and Seth wishes to visit the betting shop now that he has left the house. Betty is relieved to see him restored to normalcy, and the two embrace.
