Plot

Part One: Eric thanks Gloria for the positive influence she's having on him. It's Joseph's birthday and Zoe asks Chris to invite Charity to the party. Cynthia gives abuse to Eric for sacking Seth. Sam is upset when the factory staff are handed their first wage packet and he discovers his wage has been deducted for all the destructed stock. Carol attempts to wind Viv up over her honeymoon, recommending Barbados after the week she spent there on her's. She gloats that it is not cheap however. Lisa tries to stand up for Sam but is shot down by Eric. Cynthia leads the staff (minus Edna) on strike as they start a picket line. Eric loses patience and sacks them all.

Part Two: Gloria believes Eric has acted hastily and comes up with a plan. Charity frets to Chloe that Zoe has told Paddy about their affair. She is uncomfortable as Chris arrives to invite her to Joseph's party on Zoe's instruction. Eric makes an announcement to the staff, agreeing to review Seth's dismissal and agrees to allow Sam to reimburse him for the damaged stock at an agreed amount on a weekly basis. He also agrees to a bonus payment to the staff should they meet the deadline of Monday for the order. Rodney shoots Diane down when she challenges him about his latest venture. He explains there won't really be any competition between Chez Marlon and the Woolpack because he intends to keep it upmarket. Viv and Carol snipe at each other in the pub. Bob wipes the smile of Carol's face by announcing they are going to Barbados for three weeks on their honeymoon. Viv is ecstatic. Zoe enjoys playing on Charity's unease at the party. Eric and Gloria celebrate dealing with their staffing issues. Gloria thanks Eric for giving her purpose in life again. They kiss.
