Plot[]
Jimmy begins to worry when he’s unable to get hold of Tom. Sadie tells him that Tom just needs some time to himself. Matthew tells Jimmy that there’s nothing to worry about but Carl also becomes concerned when Tom is not to be found in the village or over at the golf club. Jimmy and Carl head to Holdgate Farm and get in through a window when no one answers the door. The place is a mess and things are not looking good when they find the pile of photos and an empty whisky bottle in the office. Meanwhile, Matthew quizzes Sadie about the photos of Charity and Cain. Sadie is adamant that she merely hired a private eye and he simply took photos of Charity and Cain kissing. Matthew asks Sadie why she decided to wait until the wedding day before showing Tom the photos. He points out that her timing was impeccable because it gave Charity no time to give Tom an explanation. Sadie becomes angry and tells Matthew that instead of proving how clever he is he should be down on his knees thanking her for saving the family. By the evening, Tom is still missing and Matthew pays Jimmy and Sadie a visit at Home Farm. While Jimmy phones around trying to discover Tom’s whereabouts, Matthew remarks to Sadie that things are spiralling out of control. Sadie tries to remain cool, but she is shaken as Matthew warns her that she’s gone too far and if Tom finds about what she’s been up to she’s finished. After a Christmas break, Edna resumes her campaign to get Eric removed from public office. When Edna brings her petition into the Woolpack and starts collecting signatures, Val comes to Eric’s rescue and has a word with Louise about Edna’s activities. Louise asks Edna to leave. Paul later has a go at Val for her newfound interest in Eric and describes him as a ‘fully greased slug’. Terry and Bob pay Alan a visit to discuss the running of the B&B. Alan admits that the thought of the place still makes him shudder so whatever they want to do is fine by him. Bob lets his imagination run away with him and tells Alan that they want to give the place a makeover and are thinking of offering guests themed mini-breaks. Back at the Woolpack, Terry is dismayed as he realises that Bob is in earnest about his big plans for the B&B.
