Plot
Sam is depressed about Alice’s pending departure and as a cry for help he climbs up onto the roof of the village hall. Sam insists he wants to injure himself in the hope that it will encourage Alice to stay and look after him. Eric becomes an unlikely source of help and tells Sam that he should be honest with Alice about how he feels. Taking his advice on board, Sam later goes over to Alice and kisses her. Elsewhere, Ethan persists in trying to convince Alan that Steph is innocent and eventually Alan backs down and agrees to visit his daughter the following day. Meanwhile, Paul tells Bob that he should look upon his single status as an opportunity to fulfil his dreams. Taking his words on board Bob decides that he would like to become a stand-up comic and suggests an open mic night at The Woolpack.
