Plot[]

Chloe emotionally blackmails Carl by telling him that the pregnancy is her problem and not his. Carl insists that he won’t turn his back on her and reluctantly agrees when she suggests a termination. Chloe later books an appointment with her GP and then tells Carl that her biggest fear is losing him. Meanwhile, Betty goes shopping for Alan as he won’t leave the house. She tells Viv that Alan thinks the anonymous calls are Shelly. Ethan overhears and offers his help, but Betty shouts at him and tells him he’s caused enough trouble by suggesting the calls were Shelly in the first place. Marlon goes to see Alan and tells him he understands how he’s feeling. He says that it took him a while to accept that Tricia was not coming back and doesn’t blame Alan for clinging to any hope that she’s still alive, but advises that it shouldn’t rule his life. Alan gets his hopes up when DI Keysell tells him that the mysterious calls to the B&B are traced back to Newquay. Knowing that Shelly has always been fond of the seaside town, Alan is convinced that she has been trying to get in touch. Having found Cain’s number on Sadie’s phone bill, Jimmy also checks her phone and notices that she called him quite recently. Sadie asks him if he’s reconsidered joining her, but Jimmy gets in a huff and storms off, nearly knocking Libby off her horse with his speedy driving. Recovering from her shock, Libby makes herself at home at Andy’s while he sees to her horse. She gives him a peck on the cheek for his trouble, but Andy’s hopes of wooing her are dashed when she mentions that she has a boyfriend.
