Plot[]
At the Vicarage, Donald asks Clive how he intends to spend his time in Beckindale. Clive says that the gold idea has bitten the dust but that he is interested in the possibility of finding flour-spar, a mineral used in smelting. Donald then worries about what it's going to cost but Clive hints darkly that he won't come to his father for the money he's owed. Ruth visits Emmerdale where she finds Joe shifting fertiliser sacks. There is a passage of arms over the sex war between them which Joe cuts short by suggesting they go in for dinner, as it's time. But before that he asks her out for a drink the following evening to bury the hatchet finally.
