It's the day of Steph’s trial and Alan is worried to hear from a journalist that the prosecution have something up their sleeves. The trial begins well for Steph but she gets a shock when it is announced that a new witness has come forward. Meanwhile, Rosemary is irritated by the relationship that has developed between Edna and Tom since their trip away. Rosemary pushes Tom for details about his trip with Edna and teases him about their relationship, but Tom warns her to back off.
