Jamie arrives at Home Farm to tell Tom that the Hopes won’t be accepting the compensation money, only to find out from Tom that he's too late as Jean had already accepted the offer; thus, no civil action will be launched against the Kings in the process. Jamie is shocked and confronts his mother, who is in the midst of packing her bags, where the two gets into an argument. Jamie is angry at his mother for accepting the offer without Bob's knowledge, while Jean tries to explain herself in front of her furious son. Unable to forgive his mother for what she's done, Jamie disowns Jean and walks out on her. Jean then visits Terry at the request of taking TJ to the park; he allows this and she indirectly bids him farewell before jumping in a taxi with TJ to the airport. Jamie realizes what's happened and grabs Terry and they race to the airport. Seeing the devastation caused by the Kings, Chas turns up in The Woolpack in tears. Chas relays her fears to Diane about the Kings treatment of the Hopes and admits her own guilt by association. Meanwhile, Diane continues to plan new ideas for the pub and talks about launching a new cocktail. Val remains in a continued state of disbelief over Diane's behaviour.
