Plot[]

Eric succeeds in his plan to intercept the DNA results from the courier, but Val discovers him sat staring at the unopened envelope in his office. Imploring both Eric and a nervous David to open it together, Val runs out of patience and tears open the results herself. When they’re revealed to be positive, David is thrilled and hugs a stunned Eric. Meanwhile, at the police station, DCI Barraclough confronts Bob with the fact that his story is full of holes. He still maintains that Jamie is innocent but is later set free. Upon his return, he shocks Jamie with the revelation that he really thought he was the murderer. Over at Butler's Farm, Jo is shocked to see her mum Jackie arrive. Jackie reveals that it was Katie who invited her to stay, much to Jo's chagrin. Mother and daughter immediately begin to chide each other, and it is soon revealed to an unsuspecting Katie that Jackie didn’t turn up at Christmas. Katie is stunned to realise that Jo and Andy in fact spent the day alone.
