Plot
At the end of her tether, a nicotine-deprived Val storms round to the post office, leaving with a packet of cigarettes. As she takes a long, satisfying drag in the backroom, she’s interrupted by Paul and in a panic tosses the cigarette into the bin, leaving it smouldering. Meanwhile, Rodney and Eric continue to chide each other as Rodney keeps his feet very much under the table. Stuck in the middle, Val suggests to Paul that he may want to put his father up for a while. Still upset over her war of words with Kelly, Viv takes on board Bob’s counsel when he points out that although she lost a husband, a father can never be replaced. A remorseful Viv tries to make amends with Kelly.
