Plot[]
Carl is surprised when his ex-wife Colleen turns up with Anya and Thomas in tow and announces that Carl needs to look after them for a while. Later, when he returns home with the kids, Chas is annoyed to hear that he's going to be a full-time father for the foreseeable. As the villagers continue to speculate about Ashley and Sally, he can’t believe everyone thinks he's a cheat. Ashley's further concerned when Nicola orders him to tell Laurel about him and Sally before she does. Later, when Bishop George arrives with a church official to question him about Sally's allegations, he feels helpless as they interrogate him. Edna visits Sally in hospital and admits that she's deeply troubled by her story and when Sally implies that Ashley took advantage of her when she split with Vincent, Edna's sure this doesn't sound like the Ashley she knows. Elsewhere, Charity admits to Chas that she's glad to be out of the factory but has to find a new job fairly soon. When Chas questions if she still has a HGV licence, Charity confirms to her that she does but is sure that there's no way Carl will offer her a job. Dragging her to Pear Tree Cottage, Chas pitches Charity as their new driver but Carl's incredulous and claims that Charity's the last person they would trust.
