Plot

Mia and Dermot are in the kitchen getting breakfast when Declan and Ella come downstairs arguing. Dermot shares a resigned look with Mia.

Amy is setting up the dining room for a large amount of customers but Pollard tells her to shut shop and cancel the bookings as he is in no mood for it. Amy tries to get him to go talk to Val but he is deaf to advice.

Diane warns Adam to behave himself today but he claims none of it was his fault. Mia enters and Diane suggests he starts with putting her straight but she is adamant that she did them a favour. Val comes through from the back to get a drink and Diane tries to reassure her that Eric can't be guilty of what Michael is accusing him of. Val isn't so sure since why else would Pollard have paid him off?

Amy has come to David to help with getting Eric sorted. She tells him that Val has left him but David thinks that they'll be fine soon enough, they always are. Amy asks him what he knows about Elizabeth and tells him about Michael's accusations.

Belle and Will come in as Lisa is making some lunch for her, Zak and Derek. Will gives Belle some of his Christmas presents (xbox 360 games) that Nikhil had bought him since he already has them. He gets a call on his mobile but cuts it off.

Adam has come to see Scarlett, he has just missed Jimmy which is lucky. He apologises but Scarlett interrupts and apologises to him for overreacting. He is trying to break up with her but she is blind to it and gives him a kiss.

Pearl leaves some flowers on Len's grave, seeing Pollard standing at Elizabeth's grave she shouts across to him but he ignores her. On her way out she passes David and tells him she is worried about Eric. David goes over and talks to him about Michael's accusations. Asking if Pollard did kill Elizabeth, David is embarrassed when Eric replies 'do you really need to ask' and walks away.

Scarlett and Adam are kissing on the sofa. She breaks away and suggests they go upstairs but Adam wants to talk about things. Scarlett still isn't getting what he is hinting at so Adam has to man-up and break up with her. She looks devastated.

Eric comes into the Woolpack and asks after Val who is depressed in the back. He wants to talk to her and David helps Diane see that they need to discuss things if anything is to be sorted. Diane heads into the back and brings a stern faced Val through. Pollard wants her home but she isn't planning on leaving and demands the absolute truth from him. He will tell her everything in private but she still won't come home, she doesn't feel safe alone with him right now.

Belle and Will are playing a racing game as Lisa and Derek finish their dinner. He thinks Lisa deserves spoiling and tells her to put her feet up. She points out that they have to get back to work and Derek pretends to have not noticed the time. They leave as Will gets another call, he cancels it and throws his phone onto the tile floor breaking it. Belle wants to help as he is obviously distressed. Will confesses that it is Nathan calling and he won't leave him alone.

In the back room of the Woolpack Eric pours himself a strong drink as he prepares to tell Val everything. Val is worried that she doesn't know enough about Pollard and that he could have killed Michael for all she knows.

Jai opens the door of Holdgate Farm to Ella with a bottle of wine. She wants his advice and he hints at them having a fling at some point in the past. She assures him that won't happen ever again and just wants his advice on how to win Declan back again. Jai tells her to do something simple, put something sexy on and give him 'the look'. He assures her that all rows will be forgotten.

Val is fed up of waiting for Eric to start talking and is about to head out. He warns her that she won't like the truth and pours himself another drink. He admits that he thought he could turn over a new leaf when he met Elizabeth but he was weak and soon gave into his criminal urges. Telling Val about the forged cheques and subsequent police investigation; Val is wary when he hints that he couldn't let Elizabeth keep implicating him and that when he went to her house she wouldn't listen to reason.

Ella is dressed up and waiting for Declan when the door opens. She is embarrassed to see Dermot there and starts to make herself more respectable. When Declan enters behind him Dermot gives them a look and quickly heads out to give them some privacy. Declan wants to know what is going on and she confesses to talking to Jai about how to win Declan back. She opens up to him about wanting things to work but he is unresponsive and can't open up to her.

Eric continues his story and tells Val about framing Michael for the cheque fraud and Elizabeth countering him by implicating him with the sale of the Roman bracelet. After Elizabeth ran out into the night he went after her, worried that the police would uncover all of his scams if he got caught for just one of them. Catching up to her she could see the look in his eye and ran again, then the world erupted in fire and when he saw her again she was dead from the debris. Pollard blames himself for her being there and shoulders the blame for her death and admits that he would have killed her if things had turned out different. Val tells him to leave and he is resigned as he slowly exits.
