Jack is relieved to learn the rustler will make a full recovery and is in the clear. The rest of the villagers are thrilled to learn the rustlers have been charged, however Barbara is furious to learn Brian is coming to Beckindale.
Plot[]
Jackie and Henry comfort Jack - the rustler is conscious but is in intensive care. Sgt. MacArthur and the PC arrive to take Jack's statement. Matt thinks the rustler deserved it but Joe points out Jack could be prosecuted if the rustler takes legal action. Alan thinks Jack deserved a medal. Jack wants to see the rustler in hospital. Jack struggles to sleep and Jackie comforts him. Jack says he didn't care about the rustler until after he knocked him out. Jackie tells him that that's similar to how he felt when attacking Andy. Jackie offers to lie to get Jack off the hook, Jack is touched. Barbara still doesn't want to speak to Brian. Jack has learnt the rustler needed stitches and the doctors are still performing x-rays. Matt tells Jack the other two rustlers have been arrested - Jack's off the hook. Amos serves Alan in The Woolpack and says how he may not be good at golf, but can keep ale, but he will not go on, as he does not want to bore Alan, and Alan realises Amos overheard him the other day at the golf club. Pat is stunned when Jack tells her Jackie offered to lie for him. Barbara's car has broken down, Joe offers to get one of NY Estates's mechanics in and give her a lift to Home Farm. Brian tells Donald he wants to come to Beckindale to see Barbara. Donald warns Barbara she can't put things off forever. She is furious to learn Brian is coming to Beckindale on the weekend. Sgt. MacArthur phones to say the rustler will be alright.
