Plot[]
It's Christmas Day in Emmerdale and Chas is still unaware of her impending nuptials. Paddy gifts Chas a beautiful red dress, that unknown to her, will be her wedding dress. Alone at Jacobs Fold, Charity video calls Ryan and is shocked to learn he's been invited to the wedding when she hasn't. Al gifts Priya a necklace that matches the bracelet he got Amba for her birthday. Priya feels bad as all she got Al was a shirt. Al smoothly tells Priya that she's the only present he needs. At The Woolpack, everyone prepares for the wedding whilst continuing to keep Chas in the dark. Harriet washes her hands for the umpteenth time since moving Malone's body. At Wishing Well Cottage, things are awkward between Vinny and Paul. Liv pulls Vinny aside and asks how it went when he spoke to his dad. Vinny claims they talked it through and Paul is going to get help after Christmas. Whilst Priya helps prepare the Hide for Christmas dinner, Al texts his mystery woman. Harriet struggles to hold it together as she prepares for Chas and Paddy's wedding ceremony. A drunken and spiteful Charity plans to ruin Chas and Paddy's wedding. Jamie hopes Andrea and Millie will have Christmas dinner at Home Farm. Kim thinks Jamie is deluded and is shocked to learn he suggested to Andrea that they started afresh. She reminds her son that he can barely stand his estranged wife so he won't be able to keep up the act. Jamie states it won't be forever - just until he gets custody. At that moment, Andrea appears at Home Farm and informs Jamie she's filling for divorce. Moira gifts Mackenzie a toy car as a reminder of when she took him to a car show for his fourth birthday. An unimpressed Mackenzie claims he doesn't remember. Once Moira is out of earshot, Cain tells Mackenzie he's overstayed his welcome. Al sneaks off to meet his other woman, lying to Priya that he's going to see his adoptive parents to make amends. As Paddy and Marlon make their way to the church, they spot Chas out walking with Eve. Paddy hides in the church whilst Marlon bumbles his way through a conversation with Chas. Chas is under the impression Marlon is down in the dumps as it's the anniversary of his ill-fated wedding to Jessie. She's adamant that getting married on 25th December is cursed and questions why anyone would choose to have a Christmas Day wedding. After overhearing Marlon and Chas' conversation, a dazed Paddy decides to cancel the wedding. Charity dresses in black as she prepares to ruin the wedding. Al meets his other woman at a hotel - it's Debbie!
Al and Debbie recall how they met then the pair head up to their hotel suite. Harriet visits Malone's grave and asks the Lord to forgive her for what she's done. Belle video calls Zak and tells her father she misses him so much. Will witnesses Harriet walking up Church Lane in tears and orders to pull herself together. Harriet tells Will she can still smell Malone; she can't get clean. With the guilt weighing on her heavily, Harriet feels unable to continue her duties as vicar so she calls a replacement to perform Chas and Paddy's wedding ceremony. At the same time, Paddy phones the restaurant he told Chas they were going to in a bid to save Christmas, but unsurprisingly, they cannot fit them in. Marlon is adamant they can fix things but Paddy believes if Chas goes through with the wedding now, it'll be out of pity. He instructs Marlon to call the family and cancel everything. Dressed in all black, Charity bursts into the church to object to the wedding but the church is empty except for the replacement vicar, Charles Anderson. As Charity exits the church, she bumps into Chas and takes great pleasure in informing her cousin that Christmas dinner at the fancy hotel was all ruse to cover Paddy's plans to surprise her with a wedding. Marlon admits it's true but Paddy cancelled it after overhearing what she said earlier. Chas feels awful whilst Charity finds the situation hilarious. Priya and Ellis discuss Al visiting his adoptive parents. Meanwhile at the hotel, Al gifts Debbie the same necklace he gave Priya. Debbie hasn't got Al anything, so like he told Priya, Al tells Debbie she's the only present he needs. Chas spots a glum Paddy sitting outside the pub. Unaware of Al's relationship with Priya, Debbie promises him they'll go public soon. Al insists there's no rush. Marlon manages to get Paddy to the church where Chas is waiting for him at the altar. Chas asks Paddy to marry her then the couple marry in an intimate ceremony with only Marlon, Aaron and Bear in attendance. At Wishing Well Cottage, Paul continues to pressure Vinny into not telling Mandy the truth. Vinny agrees so long as Paul gives up gambling. After the ceremony, Marlon, Aaron, Bear, and Eve head over to Tall Trees Cottage to have the food Marlon prepared for the reception and they invite Charles to join them. Al returns to Holdgate Farm and jumps straight back into the role of dotting fiancé. Chas and Paddy visit Grace's grave where Paddy promises to make it his life's work to be the husband and father Chas and Eve deserve. Mackenzie calls in past Jacobs Fold to inform a drunken Charity that the job is on. Chas and Paddy return to the pub to find Leyla has transformed the bar into a winter wonderland. Paddy informs Chas he's going to change his surname to "Dingle" then the newlyweds enjoy their first dance as man and wife.
