Plot[]

Part One: Rhona has to return to work to deal with an emergency callout. Brenda is horrified to see the state of Billy's injuries. Rishi tries again to persuade Jai to go to rehab. In turn, Jai tries again to make Rishi see that he is not using drugs. Ethan informs Charles that he is representing the man who put Billy in hospital. Noah tracks Chloe to the Woolpack and offers to buy her dinner. She makes her excuses and leaves. Ethan talks through the case with Charles. He feels it may go against him at work if he doesn't see the case through. Charity arrives to see Marlon with bad news - she can only afford to pay him statutory sick pay as the pub is going through a quiet spell. Billy gets fed up with everyone staring and commenting on his injuries. As Ethan and Charles arrive at the pub, Dawn shouts Ethan over and asks him for any advice he can give Billy. Ethan is awkward and tells him he can't advise anything because he is already representing Jordan. Kim steps in when she catches Jai and Laurel squabbling at work. Dawn and Billy can't believe that Ethan is representing Jordan.

Part Two: Jai tells Kim that their argument wasn't Laurel's fault. Kim warns him that he's on thin ice. Ethan worries that if he pulls out of representing Jordan, it will send the message that he is unfit to defend a racially-aggravated case because he is black. Laurel defends Jai when Kim says that she has put him on probation, reminding her that she needs to give him verbal and written warnings first. Chloe lies to Kerry that she's texting a friend as she texts Nate who is away on work. Noah finds Chloe at the shop but she makes excuses to leave again when he invites her to the café. Rhona doesn't want Marlon to worry about money and raises the idea of returning to work part-time as an experiment. He says he is happy for Mary to look after him while she works. Billy is appalled by Ethan's attitude and confronts him in the street, giving him a piece of his mind over how he feels about him representing Jordan. Ethan isn't sure he can continue to do his job at all anymore.
