Plot[]
Part One: It's the day Faith has chosen to end her life so she sends Chas off for a pamper day to get her out of the way. Before Chas leaves, Faith gives her daughter a long hug and tells her she loves her. She also gets Sarah to take one last picture of them together. At Butlers Farm, Cain tells Moira he forgot how much Faith loved the seaside. Moira states it proves he had good times with Faith as a child and advises him to cherish everyday he has left with his mum. Sarah shows Faith the Polaroid photos from yesterday. Faith thinks they're great. She encourages her great-granddaughter to pursue photography as it's a great way to see the world and she also gets Sarah to promise to visit the Great Barrier Reef. Diane is hungover but tries to pass it off as post-flight dehydration. She, Eric, and Brenda decide to throw Faith another party whilst they can. Moira calls by the pub to see Faith. Al phones the spa Faith has booked Chas into and books them a hotel room for the night. Moira reveals to Faith that she overheard her talking to Zak yesterday and it sounded like she was planning to end her life. Faith lies that she isn't planning to do it today. Moira breathes a sigh of relief. She then turns her attention to Christmas and suggests they bring it forward so they can have another celebration like yesterday. Faith goes along with Moira's ideas knowing they will never happen.
Part Two: Diane and Eric pop by the pub to catch up with Faith and suggest they also have a Halloween party. Faith is upset when Moira rushes off to start planning the early Christmas party as she didn't have a proper chance to say goodbye to her. At the hotel, Chas is feeling down so Al tries to comfort her and raise her spirits. Chas wishes them being happy wouldn't make so many people sad. Faith summons Cain to the pub backroom where she hands him cash and asks him to drive to Filey and to get her two sticks of rock. Cain agrees to go despite the four-hour round trip and the pair share an emotional hug.
Part Three: Faith calls Nate to the pub and asks him to help her upstairs to her bedroom. Cain has been to a sweet shop in Hotten to get two sticks of rock thinking Faith won't know the difference. Zak believes she will. Nate helps Faith up to bed and brings her a glass of water. Before Nate leaves, Faith orders him to always make sure he stays part of Frankie's life as family is all that matters. Once Nate has gone, Faith turns off her phone then takes her tablets and a bottle of medication from her handbag. She also removes the stack of Polaroids and looks through them before holding them to her chest. At the farm, Moira panics when she sees Sarah with a locket around her neck as Faith had previously been insistent that Sarah wouldn't get it until she was dead. Moira tries to call Faith but it goes straight to voicemail so in a frenzied state, she rushes out of the farmhouse and phones Cain and orders him to get straight to the pub. At the hotel, Al informs a delighted Chas he's bought them a house and the pair celebrate. When Cain arrives at the pub, Moira explains she has a really bad feeling. The pair rush upstairs where they find Faith unresponsive. Cain sees the tablets and medication in the bedside drawer and realises Faith has taken an overdose. He shakes his mum and manages to wake her. Faith croaks out "leave me" but Cain is adamant he's not leaving her side.
Part Four: As Faith dips in and out of consciousness, Cain asks her how many tablets she's taken and questions how she could be so stupid. Cain orders Moira to call an ambulance but Faith doesn't want any doctors and pleads with Cain to let her go. Cain reluctantly agrees. He asks Moira to get Paddy to call Chas and get her here immediately. Meanwhile at the hotel, Chas obliviously begins planning the decor in her and Al's new home. Her phone rings but it's the brewery so she ignores it. When Chas gets up from the bed to run a bath, Al silences her phone. As a result, Chas misses Paddy's desperate attempts to get a hold of her. Cain holds Faith in his arms. He tells her he wishes she would've told him what she was planning to do but realises she didn't due to what his reaction would've been. Through tears, he apologises for being like that and tells his mum he loves her. Shortly afterward, Faith passes away in Cain's arms.
