Part One: Charity and Mack are back from their honeymoon and they're surprised to see Chloe and baby Reuben are still in the village. Suzy calls by Smithy Cottage to give Mary the money they raised yesterday as the bank details Faye gave her were for her own personal account not the charity's bank account. Marshall asks Jai for his advice on how to make his date with Arthur special. Nicola and Brenda realise Belle has a new man in her life and speculate who it is. Sarah is concerned when she overhears Mack talking to Wendy about Reuben in the shop. Suzy informs Mary she's searched online charity registers and the charity Faye proports to run isn't on any of them. Mary refuses to listen but Suzy urges her to dig a little deeper and keep her wits about her. Sarah fears the truth about Reuben's paternity will come out. Faye arrives at Smithy Cottage as Mary is looking at the charity's website. Suspecting Mary may be cottoning on the fact she's conning her, Faye asks Mary if Suzy has spoken to her as she was cagey about giving her the money from yesterday's fundraiser. Mary states Suzy gave her the money this morning and queries why Faye didn't give Suzy the charity's bank details, but Faye has an excuse already prepared. When Mary suggests she puts the money in the charity's bank account whilst she's changing her currency, Faye insists there's no need. Jai has arranged for Arthur and Marshall to go canoeing and then zip-wiring for their date. Mary demands to know why there's nothing online about the charity but again Faye has an answer prepared - they need to protect their anonymity as they're a women's shelter. Mary knows she's lying. Mary realises she's been taken for a fool and labels Faye "a grifter". Faye's true colours finally come out. She grabs the envelope of money Suzy dropped off, telling Mary she should be she grateful only lost this much. Mary tells Faye she loved her and questions where she was going to offload her. Mary then tries to grab the envelope of money from Faye, but in the ensuing scuffle, Faye shoves Mary to the ground which knocks her unconscious. As Mary lays motionless with blood dripping from a gash on her head, Faye pockets a camera then walks out.

Part Two: Sarah confronts Mack about quizzing Wendy about Reuben. Mack insists he's allowed to be concerned but Sarah states he isn't. Rhona's ex-husband Gus arrives at Smithy Cottage and finds Mary lying unconscious so he calls 999. Tom is avoiding telling Jimmy and Nicola that he's back in Emmerdale. Sarah fears Mack is going to get attached to Reuben and wishes she's told Charity the truth when she found out. She orders Mack to stay well away from Reuben and Chloe and accept he will never be Reuben's dad. Mack agrees. Suzy arrives at Smithy Cottage as paramedic is examining Mary. With Suzy now there to look after Mary, Gus decides to leave. As he is going, he takes note of an open box on the sideboard containing important documents. Mary tells Suzy she was right about Faye. She explains how she confronted Faye; they had a row and Faye pushed her over. The paramedic offers to call the police but an ashamed Mary doesn't want them involved. Arthur and Marshall's date is going well despite Arthur's fear of heights. Suzy urges Mary not to beat herself up as Faye was very convincing. When Rhona arrives home, Mary admits to her that she's been conned. A shocked Rhona asks Mary how much money Faye took. Mary dodges the question. She admits to Rhona that the worst thing is, she loved Faye and she really thought Faye loved her; now she feels old and vulnerable. Rhona hugs a tearful Mary to comfort her.
