Angie Richards was a chip shop employee as well as the girlfriend of Jackie Merrick from October to November 1983. Angie was a bit older than Jackie and more experienced in relationships. Angie was infuriated by the lack of alone time she would get with Jackie, so in the dead of the night, Angie dragged Jackie to the parlour where Jackie lost his virginity to Angie on the sofa (Jackie lied about it being his first time). Annie Sugden made clear that she knew what had happened and Angie ended up calling their relationship off. Jackie spotted Angie at a disco with her new boyfriend and became jealous, starting a fight with Angie's boyfriend.
