Dolly is left in charge of the farmhouse as Annie and Sam leave for Ireland. Meanwhile, John tries to get Joe to hire more staff but Joe is unhappy with his interference.
Plot[]
Annie and Sam have gone to Ireland, Dolly has been left in charge of the farmhouse. Matt is concerned about a cow, Jack and Dolly advise him to get a vet but Matt doesn't want to potentially waste money. John pushes Joe to hire more staff. Donald talks to Jack about Jackie avoiding Pat. He tells Jack that he needs to start thinking about Jackie. Profits have dropped in The Woolpack and Henry suggests encouraging more customers to come by getting a piano. Amos makes clear that he is against the idea, and even more so when Seth reveals that he can play piano and would be willing to come in most nights. Dolly is concerned about the cow and the soon-to-be-born calf, and pleads with Matt to listen to her instincts. He relents and calls the vet in. It turns out that the cow's contractions were going nowhere, and the vet has had to put the cow into labour to avoid the risk of the calf being stillborn. Dolly and Matt go out to witness the birth, passing a distant Jack.
