Keith Lodge is a security expert and former police officer; an acquaintance of Donna Windsor-Dingle whom she knew through a session he held during Donna's police training. When the village post office, owned by Donna's mother Viv, was raided by Eli Dingle, Donna's brother-in-law, in order to pay off two loan sharks, Keith was brought in to advise Viv what apparatus could be used to protect the shop. Viv was unsure due to price and walked to the front of the shop, but was confronted by an individual wearing a Ghostface mask. Hearing Viv's screams, Donna and Keith raced in and restrained the youth, only to find it was Viv's stepson Jamie, who was wearing the mask for a joke aimed at Donna. Keith suggested installing simple remote locks on the doors at a special price and Viv agreed. Keith returned the next day to install the locks.
