Lorraine Chase (born 16th July 1951 in Deptford, London) is an English actress and model who portrayed Steph Stokes in Emmerdale from September 2002 to November 2006, with a guest appearance in October 2013.
She became well known for her strong cockney accent and frequent use of cockney slang, and found fame through a series of television adverts for Campari before embarking on an acting career.
In 2002, Chase joined the cast of the long-running ITV soap opera Emmerdale, playing Steph Stokes. Executive producer Steve Frost chose her to play the mother of Tricia Stokes due the actresses' physical resemblance. She played an ex-convict and featured in some of the shows most prominent controversial storylines to date including family bereavement, mental illness, murder, fraud and incest sexual abuse until November 2006 when her character was sent to jail for a life sentence. She returned in 2013 to attend the funeral of on-screen father Alan Turner.
In 2003, Chase was a contestant alongside Deena Payne, Ben Freeman, Amy Nuttall and Billy Hartman on defunct ITV gameshow Russian Roulette. She was sent down in the third round and lost her chance to win money for her charity.
