Paul is Robert Sugden's solicitor who helped him in the case against Lee Posner in 2019.
Paul first appeared in July 2019 when Robert asked him about getting a restraining order against his sister Victoria's rapist Lee. However, Paul tells him that only Victoria can take out the order but Robert doesn't want Victoria to get wind of Lee's threats and harassment.
Paul returns in August 2019 after Robert is charged with attacking Lee with a shovel causing him to lay in a coma. Paul believes Robert has a good case for self-defence but the tables turn when Lee wakes up and their stories don't match. In September, Robert is angered when Paul suggests he plead guilty as his chance of winning are slim and if he lost in court he would face a longer sentence. Robert refuses, however, Paul is surprised when Robert pleads guilty the following day after not wanting to put his sister through any more trouble.
