Megan Macey accidentally bumped into the back of Phil's car at temporary traffic lights in January 2017. Megan and Phil swapped details, and the following day, Megan and her ex-husband, Jai Sharma, met Phil in The Woolpack where Phil asked Megan for £750 to cover the damages. Jai couldn't believe it as only the bumper was damaged. Former conman Frank Clayton overhear this and confronted Phil outside the toilets where Phil offered Frank £100 to keep quiet about the scam. Instead, Frank told Megan that she was being ripped off and Phil walked away after Megan asked to go through insurance companies.
