Finland is a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe. It shares land borders with Sweden to the west, Russia to the east and Norway. The capital of Finland is Helsinki. Finland is around 1,700 miles from Emmerdale.
Emmerdale history[]
- February 2004 - Laurel Potts planned to go to Helsinki in Finland but decided to stay after realising that Ashley Thomas had turned up at the airport in order to stop her from leaving. However, thinking she had left, Ashley boarded a plane to Helsinki in order to catch up with her.
- December 2016 - Whilst suffering from dementia, Ashley Thomas referenced the trip in 2004 when he spoke about how he bought a ticket to Helsinki but his girlfriend had decided to stay in England, so he ended up going to Finland when she hadn't even left the country.

Emmerdale airs on commercial channel MTV3 in Finland and is the most watched non-Finnish every-weekday program in Finnish television.
Between 2013 and 2017, 8 volumes of Emmerdale DVD box sets were released in Finland, containing episodes from the beginning of the "Emmerdale" era of the show (after it dropped the "Farm" from its title) including episodes Episode 1405 (21st November 1989) to Episode 1585 (22nd August 1991).
