Fred Anstey was a friend of Sam Pearson. In November 1973, he said he was good friends with Samuel Bairstow who was killed during WW2. Fred was never asked to join in 1939 due to previous headaches and blackouts. He attended the Beckindale vs Robblesfield cricket match in October 1974. Henry Wilks discovered that Fred was born in Robblesfield.
It is unknown if Fred is related to the 1980 and 1981 character Richard Anstey.
