Gavin Ferris was the boyfriend of Bernice Blackstock. Gavin worked at The Woolpack and soon bought it. He was a serial womaniser and one time he slept with Tricia Stokes. He did say he was addicted to women, and this made Tricia feel cheap. Gavin then started his relationship with Bernice. In December 1999, Gavin and Bernice split up after she and Tricia caught Gavin and Tricia's boyfriend Jason Kirk kissing, and he planned to leave the village. Bernice trashed his stuff. She said she still loved Gavin but she felt she could not give him another chance, as she said her ex husband Anthony Binns was also gay. Gavin decided there was nothing left for him in Emmerdale, and told Bernice to find someone to take over the mortgage, and that night Gavin left the village.
In January 2000, a week or so after Gavin left, Tricia asked Alan Turner what will happen to the pub now Gavin has gone.
