Heather Hutchinson (née Outhwaite) is the daughter of Jed Outhwaite and the mother of Lyn and Kirsty Hutchinson. Heather arrived in the village after Lyn in February 1998, when Lyn reconcilled Heather with her estranged father. Heather began an affair with Terry Woods but just as he is about to end it, she reveals that she's quitting her job at The Woolpack and moving to Hotten with Kirsty and Lyn.
