The Home Farm Caravan was a caravan situated on Home Farm land. In 1978, the caravan was purchased for NY Estates employee Steve Ashcroft after he refused to have Nellie Ratcliffe evicted from her cottage for his family to move in. In 1980, the Merrick family were moved into the caravan. In October 1981, a fight over a loaded gun between Jackie Merrick, Graham Jelks and Fred Armstrong caused a bullet to be shot through one of the Home Farm Caravan windows, almost shooting Sandie Merrick and her boyfriend David Blakemore inside. An out of control Jackie torched the caravan in November 1982, for which he was prosecuted for. The caravan was not replaced.
